From American Idol to Indie Pop Singer Songwriter, Charity Vance Releases Debut Album
American Idol hopeful Charity Vance forges on to follow her passions -singing and songwriting. Her debut album showcases heartfelt gems of indie-pop music.
- (1888PressRelease) August 13, 2011 - 'Writing is a part of me,' explains new music artist Charity Vance. 'It owns a room in my heart. I love visiting that room!'
And what she writes on paper is translated into heartwarming and heart-achingly good indie-pop music.
Charity Vance is an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Arkansas who caught our attention on Season 9 of FOX series 'American Idol'. At her audition she sang her own rendition of 'Summertime' and wowed the judges which included guest-judge Shania Twain. Soon after 'American Idol', Charity went straight to recording her solo album in a studio in Nashville with production team ZodLounge, the same team responsible for the music of Emily Osment, Leann Rimes, and Richard Marx. This resulting record is now ready for release this 2011.
Charity Vance's journey began when she was seven years old, performing every year at Arkansas' largest festival Riverfast and National Anthem gigs at Verizon Arena. When she was nine, she was in the title role of 'Annie' with the Arkansas Repertory Theatre. Two years later, she won the Radio Disney Superstar Kid Contest and became a regular performer at Little Rock's Peabody Hotel. These humble beginnings honed Charity's music talent, giving her vocals a richer sound, her performance level more astute. When she was 11 years old, Soundscapes even tapped her to do voice-overs for radio commercials nationwide.
In the end, Charity found her passion in performing and songwriting. 'To have the most delightful day possible, all I need is a pen, my right hand, and my beaten-up notebook I am trying to keep alive', she says. 'I crave paper. I indulge in the aisle with the writing supplies. 'Back to school' shopping is better than my birthday'. And what does Charity want to impart through her unique sound? 'I want my music to be the choice of the group of girls driving to the park. I hope it streams through the open windows to meet the wind on its way out. I hope my music gets the chance to live'.
Charity Vance's genteel vocals once combined with her wisdom-beyond-her-years songwriting make for a refreshing debut album full to the brim with remarkable tunes. Charity Vance is a brilliant find who's worth a listen. She'll steal your hearts - don't tell us we didn't warn you.
