French Pavilion pools sea-technology talent at Ocean Business 2011

  • (1888PressRelease) February 12, 2011 - Ocean Business 2011 is expected to attract 280 exhibitors from 19 countries, including Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and Norway, as well as 4,000 visitors. Ocean Business is a hands-on exhibition incorporating presentations and on-water demonstrations and training sessions, with a wide range of networking opportunities for visitors and exhibitors.

    A total of eight sea-technology companies from France will be exhibiting at the Ocean Business trade show as part of the French Pavilion (Stand H8), which is being organised with the backing of the French Trade Commission in the UK and UBIFRANCE, the French export-support agency. Cadden and CLS will not be on Stand H8, but on Stands V22 and V23 respectively.

    The French companies, from across the sector, will present their innovative products and advanced technological solutions in sea technology in order to reinforce their professional contacts with British partners and to provide new business opportunities for trade between France and the UK.

    CADDEN

    CADDEN provides solutions for positioning, orientation and navigation, and recently launched its new GEOD product range for bathymetric survey, navigation and fleet management. CADDEN offers a rental pool, technical assistance, product training and installation/configuration.

    CLS

    CLS, a subsidiary of the French Space Agency, is the exclusive operator of the Argos satellite system and is an Iridium value-added reseller (VAR). CLS has provided satellite-based environmental data acquisition, positioning and ocean-observation services to the metocean community since 1986 (the word "metocean" was formed out of the combination of "meteorology" and "oceanology"). CLS is an international player, which is headquartered in southwestern France, with subsidiaries around the world.     IFREMER

    IFREMER is the French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea. This public-sector institution was set up in 1984 and has 26 sites, including five key centres in Boulogne, Brest, Nantes, Toulon and Tahiti.
