French Joint Space Command, DGA to discuss Pan-European SSA network at Military Space Situational Awareness 2016
SMi Reports : The French Joint Space Command will be speaking at SMi's Military Space Situational Awareness conference which takes place on the 18th-19th April in London.
- (1888PressRelease) January 29, 2016 - London, UK : SMi are delighted to announce Ms. Monique Moury, Head of Operational Flight Dynamics Entity, CNES - Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales, and Colonel Franck Schrottenloher, Commander, Environmental Control Office, French Joint Space Command, DGA will be among this year's speakers at the Military Space Situational Awareness Conference.
Military Space Situational Awareness 2016 will bring together Military Space users and private industry specialists from around the world to discuss the challenges of gathering information in space and how they can be overcome through intimate cooperation and research and development.
On Day One Ms. Monique Moury will speak on "CNES Role in French Space Surveillance". Highlights from the talk include: Space debris mitigation; French Space Act, French organisation; Operational Activities and Focus on Collision Avoidance
In his presentation entitled "The French Military Approach to Space Situational Awareness" Colonel Schrottenloher will discuss French requirements to maintain awareness of space activities above its territory and a Pan-European SSA network (German and French cooperation in securing European space).
"France will spend €498 million ($544 million) on military space in 2016 as the nation ramps up work on next-generation optical imaging spacecraft, signals intelligence and satellite communications"*Source. With this huge investment taking place in 2016; the above sessions are not to be missed.
