- (1888PressRelease) January 08, 2013 - For the fourth consecutive year, independent French wine producers are coming to meet British professionals in London. There will be the opportunity to taste authentic wines from 71 winegrowers at French Independent Winegrowers in London at the Royal Horticultural Halls, on 15 January 2013.
Previously known as Introducing the French Association of Independent Winegrowers, the trade show has now changed name and venue, but the concept has stayed the same. Members of the media and the trade will be able to explore a wide and diverse range of unique wines from France's main wine-producing regions throughout the day. The event is unique since it will showcase such a diverse range of wines from such a large number of terroirs, while highlighting a second-to-none winegrowing savoir-faire.
The trade event will host a range of quality French wines with various geographical indications, such as Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), along with other French wines. Visitors will have the opportunity to discover what gives each wine such a distinctive character, including regional characteristics and history.
France's wine regions are joining forces in London for the enjoyment of professionals, importers, buyers, experts, journalists and wine writers. All French wine regions, in their exciting diversity and their unique range of terroirs, are represented - i.e. Alsace, Provence, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Beaujolais, Champagne, Languedoc-Roussillon, the South West, the Loire Valley, and the Rhône Valley.
The trade show will combine a wine selection that will be diverse and comprehensive with a very personal feel, if only because exhibitors bring with them an intimate knowledge of their region of production and its unique characteristics, as well as an unparalleled savoir-faire.
The French Independent Winegrowers in London event will provide visitors with a general overview through a simple wine-tasting route that is tailored to British drinking habits. Each winegrower will offer a typical wine which will make up a wine-tasting route that is divided into four sections (or Moments). Relaxed Moments are times among family or friends; Passionate Moments often involve a sit-down meal; Rosé Moments are warm summery times; and, finally, Sparkling Moments are celebrations with bubbles.
Independent winegrowers are driven by their passion for making wines that reflect their own personalities and express the unique characteristics of their terroirs. The winegrowers give their name to each wine they produce and are involved in every stage of the winemaking process, ensuring complete accountability and guaranteeing a high-quality process from the vineyard to the bottle.
While made with passion, these wines are elaborated in a manner that respects nature, work ethics and tradition, yet with a modern, innovative touch. Indeed, the fact that independent winegrowers frequently form small companies is a commercial benefit for the wine trade, as the growers, drawing on their expertise, can adapt and respond quickly to market demands and trends.
