Free Short Film Screening Series Opens in the 4 States
Monthly Touring Film Series Plays Across the Ozarks.
- (1888PressRelease) July 08, 2014 - Burbank, California - The independent film world has come to the 4 States.
Ozark Shorts, a new groundbreaking free monthly film festival in the 4 states, is a monthly traveling short film series of family-friendly short films from around the world.
The festival's founder, local award winning filmmaker Jack Truman, came up with the idea for a free film festival in the 4 states while his own films were playing worldwide on the film festival circuit at top festivals.
"People in the 4 states need to be given the opportunity to see great independent films from around the world they would otherwise never get the opportunity to see", says Truman. "There is a great creative world of short filmmakers that want to share their art and get their messages out. Everyone should have the chance to see great art without paying a cent".
This unique monthly event began last month in Lamar at the Lamar Library. July screening event towns include Lamar, Nevada, Milford and Joplin, with more local towns to be included in August. The monthly screening events take place at local libraries, senior citizen centers and other venues.
Each screening event is sponsored and brought to the local area by DOCKERY AND SON's Second Hand Store in Milford.
For more information about local screening times and locations, festival info, news, or to schedule a free event in your town, visit Ozark Shorts on Facebook.
