Free African streaming platform, AfroLandTV, aquires 40+ hours of authentic African films
The popular streaming platform adds new content to its growing African, Nollywood, film and television catalog with the acquisition of new film and television releases from Nairobi & Germany-based film distributor, Rushlake Media.
- (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2021 - Dallas, Tx - As the Nollywood & African film industry continue to gain popularity and commercial success, innovative streaming platform AfroLandTV has inked a groundbreaking deal that further amplifies the platforms objective to make African film content accessible to television and film consumers throughout the world.
As part of this agreement, AfroLandTV will be releasing several new films, one of which includes “Times and Seasons”. The film stars Ghanaian reggae-dancehall artist Shatta Wale who recently collaborated with musical icon Beyoncé on the chart topping single “Already” for the artist’s “Black is King” project which was nominated for Best Music Film at 63rd Annual Grammy Awards. The film focuses on the story of a young girl who fell victim to the ramifications of a dysfunctional family, and the choices she makes that ultimately lead her outside of her comfort zone.
The acquisition of this new content also includes “The Itch”, a film starring Nollywood royalty, Frederick Leonard, Lilian Esoro, Stan Nze. The major theme of this film focuses on the story of two first-time robbers who ironically develop a change of heart when they discover the couple they are plotting against suffer from marital issues.
“The Confessor” another highly anticipated film release staring Ik Ogbonna, Daniel k Daniel, Bimbo Ademoye focuses on the story of a priest turned vigilante after the untimely murder of his sister. This unique thriller is expected to leave audiences captivated yearning for more.
Highly acclaimed Kenyan film, “Kati Kati” is among the new content on the AfrolandTV platform and won the FIPRESCI international film critics’ award at the Toronto International Film Festival. This artistic masterpiece explores themes related to the supernatural and redemption through the eyes of Kati Kati, the films main character. While in the wilderness, Kati Kati encounters the souls of dead people waiting for redemption. Viewers can expect a thrilling mystery packed with plot twists and turns that will have them wondering if her experience represent her end or her the beginning.
African film fans are in for a treat with the Ghanaian film, “Genesis of the Ashantis”. The thriller focuses on an epic battle between The Great Ashanti Tribe vs. Guans in Ghana in pursuit of the coveted Golden Horn.
