Plaisted, who is President and CEO of the Lakeland, FL based franchise creation and consulting firm, BrandChise, completed a comprehensive course of study in franchise leadership and management offered by the institute, which is the academic branch of the International Franchise Association’s Educational Foundation. The IFA is the world’s largest trade group representing the entire franchising industry.
A known franchise community leader, Plaisted has been in the franchise world since a very young age. “I grew up in the Dairy Queen business and am 4th generation multi-unit franchisee. Dairy Queen and franchising has been a daily discussion since as long as I can remember.” In addition to being a franchisee, Plaisted has served as an executive in a number of franchise brands including Computer Renaissance and Carrs the Traditional Barber.
Recently, Plaisted founded a franchise consulting firm called BrandChise. BrandChise selectively aligns itself with key brands that show great promise and helps them transform into complete franchise companies. “Although not every brand or operator is suited to franchising, many are, and those that are can experience incredible and exciting growth through franchising. Franchising is the most powerful business development and marketing system ever and estimates put the global impact of franchising at over 2.5 Trillion dollars.”
More than 1,000 candidates are currently enrolled or have received certification. More than 300 IFA-member companies currently have one or more executives enrolled in the program that provides benefits such as specialized knowledge, industry recognition, peer-level networking and professional standing.
Candidates must complete a rigorous course of study to earn the CFE designation, which includes attending institute-sponsored educational seminars and workshops. The program is designed to enhance franchising professionals’ understanding of both the industry’s fundamental and complex aspects.
