Cup Cozy Pillow a company that competed but lost to their competitor on the business funding TV show ABC's Steve Harvey's Funderdome, proves that the real consumer market will ultimately choose the winner.
Cup Cozy Pillow is the easiest, most convenient way to keep drinks close to you and safe from spills!
(1888PressRelease) January 31, 2022 - What happens on TV doesn't always reflect what happens in real life. Fortunately for Cup Cozy Pillow LLC, a Las Vegas based company this has proven true. The company passed the $1,000,000 gross revenue mark in a single year in 2021 bringing their total gross revenue to over $3,000,000 since their launch in 2017.
The company made its debut on the television show ABC’s Steve Harvey’s Funderdome with its signature product the Cup Cozy Pillow. The Cup Cozy Pillow is a soft, portable cup holder that is used primarily on the couch, car or in bed. The company started by offering two size and four color options.
The company has now expanded that to nine color options. They also created a children’s plush animal cup holder line called Cup Cozy Critters. The company will continue to expand in 2022 with a new line of fully water proof foam cup holders that can be used both inside the home and outside in the pool or at the lake called the Cup Cozy Hydro.
Happy customers seem to be the driving force behind the company’s 78% average yearly growth rate. With an average rating of 4.5 stars from thousands of customers on Amazon the Cup Cozy Pillow has proven to be a product people need and love. “People get one and absolutely love it. Their family and friends see it and want one.” says Michael Almaguer, co-owner of Cup Cozy Pillow.
Most of the company’s revenue is generated from selling on Amazon.com. However, they also sell on Walmart.com and their own website cupcozypillow.com. They have also offered Cup Cozy Pillow on HSN, Zulily, Good Morning America Steals and Deals and Fit, Fab, Fun.
With proven sales and high customer ratings their next goal was to get placed into big box retail stores. But like most businesses the Covid-19 pandemic has caused owners, Michael and Monica Almaguer to shift their business strategy. Retail companies typically purchase the product at 50% off the normal retail price. Before the Covid-19 pandemic hit a 40’ containers freight cost the company $1,700 to get their product from port to port. Now that same container costs the company $20,000. “With the huge increase in freight costs we can’t afford to offer discounted pricing to retailers right now. We have to focus on where our existing demand is and that is on Amazon.”
Michael and Monica Almaguer believe their business is still in it's infancy. They envision the Cup Cozy Pillow will become as well known and as popular as the Snuggy. They are currently seeking international licensing deals to help seek that goal.
