Four organic wines awarded Gold medals by the Gilbert & Gaillard Wine Guide
The Vinos Cambronero, S.L. winery has again received further international recognition for its great work and significant commitment to organic quality in all its wines, with the recent attainment of four new gold medals.
- (1888PressRelease) July 11, 2013 - The latest edition of the prestigious France-based international wine guide, Gilbert & Gaillard 2014, has awarded four gold medals to four organic red wines which the Manchegan winery, situated in Fuentealbilla municipality in Albacete province, makes using natural methods.
The manager of the winery, Francisco Cambronero, has expressed his satisfaction given that it was the first time he had presented his wines to this prestigious guide, "and to have received four gold medals makes us proud, helps us to continue developing our organic grape project and strengthens our position in the markets", the Manchegan winemaker affirmed.

The Vinos Cambronero winery only produces organic signature wines which are bottled under the FRANCHETE and FINCA LASTONAR brand names. The exquisite wines are produced exclusively using organic grapes from the vine varieties of the family holding: Cabernet Sauvignon, Bobal, Tempranillo, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet.
The four gold medals were awarded to the following organic red wines:
FRANCHETE: Assemblage - 2011;
FRANCHETE Cabernet Sauvignon;
FRANCHETE Barrica - 2005;
and FINCA LASTONAR
These awards signify the recognition of a very good quality, intense wine with strong aromas. A wine that is medium to full-bodied and well-balanced, with good persistence. These wines undergo a special production process which also enables exceptional ageing.
These new awards received by the wines of the Vinos Cambronero winery are in addition to other previously won prizes, such as those obtained in the following prestigious competitions: Mundus Vini Biofach, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Premios Mezquita, Concurso Ecoracimos and the Cata Concurso de vinos de la agricultura ecológica (Organic Wine Competition) of the city of Estella-Lizarra Hiria.

The nose opens up to aromas of smoke, cherry, candied raspberry and black pepper flowing into mineral aromatics.
Blackberry, plum and earthy notes appear on the palate. Easy-drinking tannins. Serve with grilled cockerel. .

Wine made from certified organic grapes from Cabernet Sauvignon.
Beautiful medium intense ruby. A mix of graphite, blackcurrant, black pepper, toast and mineral notes on the nose.
Lively palate with good balance of fruit and minerality. Well-integrated tannins, smoky note on the finish. Serve with sauteed mushrooms .

Wine made from certified organic grapes from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Bobal and Alicante Bouschet.
Intense hue. Nose of roasted coffee, dry oak, black pepper, stewed plums, cherries in brandy and ripe forest fruits. Good acidity levels on the palate and slightly dry, smoke-flavoured tannins framed by a warm structure. Save for game. Requires strong dishes like wild boar stew.

Wine made from certified organic grapes from Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot and Alicante Bouschet.
Expressive nose of prune, raisins, black pepper, candied cherry and well-integrated oak. Mouth-coating attack unveiling supple tannins, good acidity, flavours of ripe black fruits (blueberries, blackberries) and grilled meat. Serve with roasts.
