  • Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - Four partners from the acclaimed Family Law firm McCurley Orsinger McCurley Nelson & Downing, L.L.P., have been named to D Magazine's 2014 list of The Best Lawyers in Dallas.

    Firm attorneys Mike McCurley, Keith Nelson and Scott Downing are being recognized for their representation of clients in Family Law matters, and Brad M. LaMorgese is being honored for his work in Appellate Law.

    This is the tenth year Mr. McCurley has been recognized by D Magazine.

    The 2014 list of Dallas' top attorneys was determined through a peer-review voting process that included nominations from nearly 9,000 local lawyers. The final list, which will be included in the May 2014 issue of D Magazine, was compiled by a panel of distinguished lawyers and the magazine's editors. It will also be available online at www.dmagazine.com.

    The D Magazine recognition is just one of the latest honors for these attorneys.

    In addition to being a regular honoree on the D Magazine list, Mr. McCurley has been recognized as one of the Top 100 lawyers in Texas by the publishers of Texas Super Lawyers. He also has been named among the nation's Top 100 Attorneys by Worth Magazine and America's Top Divorce Lawyer by Town & Country Magazine. And he has been named the state's best family lawyer by Texas Lawyer newspaper.

    Mr. Nelson also is a Texas Super Lawyers' Top 100 honoree, and he's listed in The Best Lawyers in America. In recognition of his expertise in issues involving children in divorce, he was appointed to serve on the Texas Supreme Court Committee on Visitation and Child Support Guidelines.

    Also honored in the Texas Super Lawyers Top 100 and The Best Lawyers in America, Mr. Downing previously served as director of the State Bar of Texas Family Law Section's Family Law Essentials course and as Co-Director of the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists course.

    Mr. LaMorgese also has earned distinction in the Texas Super Lawyers Top 100 list, and is a prior recipient of the Award of Merit from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. He has served on the Family Law Legal Assistant Testing Commission since 2006.
