Fanning Harper members Rebecca Raper, Joshua A. Skinner, and Francisco J. Valenzuela, and associate John D. Husted were included in the 2010 Texas Rising Stars list published in Texas Monthly magazine. The list also appears in Texas Rising Stars magazine, a standalone publication from Thomson Reuters, Legal division based in Eagan, Minn.
"We pride ourselves on bringing in the most talented, skillful attorneys we can," says Fanning Harper Director Don D. Martinson. "These lawyers have always been stars to us."
Ms. Raper, who practices in insurance coverage and appellate law, joined Fanning Harper in 2002. Before joining the firm, she worked as a briefing attorney for the Second Court of Appeals in Fort Worth. This is the fourth year Ms. Raper has been named to the Rising Stars list.

Mr. Husted, whose practice focuses on local government defense, employment litigation, school litigation, and appellate advocacy, joined the firm in 2007. Before his work as an attorney, Mr. Husted was a high school teacher and coach.
To compile the Rising Stars list, nominations are solicited from attorneys across the state from lawyers who are asked to identify the best practicing attorneys in Texas age 40 or younger, as well as those who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Nominators are instructed to nominate lawyers they have personally observed in action - whether as opposing counsel or co-counsel, or through other firsthand courtroom observation.
