- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) October 07, 2010 - Tomorrow's Luminaries Foundation was founded by two Georgia Tech undergraduate students, Kelli C. Stancil (22) and Matthew Carson (24). Both students started the foundation with the vision of it becoming a catalyst that promotes a socially conscious, robust agenda for under-represented youth. The Foundation provides students with a holistic approach to leadership and literacy through two distinct programs, Leadership for Tomorrow and the Family Literacy Program.
Leadership for Tomorrow (L4T) is a mentoring program that unites 9th grade students with exceptional college students to engage the principals of leadership through the enhancement of academic performance, professional development, public speaking, and philanthropy. L4T is an official Georgia Tech Institute Partnership that works with students to harness their inherent potential.
The Family Literacy Program (FLP) is a program that offers evening and weekend classes to families of elementary, middle, and high school students. The program is designed to combat poverty through the development of relevant skill sets. Through the facilitation of relationships between local primary and secondary schools with universities around the country, FLP educates families on the extensive application process of attending college. The FLP brings admissions counselors, standardized test preparation, and essay writing tutorials to various Atlanta Public Schools.
On October 31st at Noon, Tomorrow's Luminaries Foundation will host their Inaugural Polo Match & Autumn Fête at Chukkar Farm Polo Club in Alpharetta, GA.
