Foundation for a Drug-Free South Kicks Off Red Ribbon Week at Local Health Fair
The Foundation for a Drug-Free South kicked off Red Ribbon Week festivities by participating in a neighborhood health fair.
- (1888PressRelease) October 25, 2012 - The Foundation for a Drug-Free South doesn't miss a beat when it comes to raising awareness about harmful drugs in the community. That's why they were ready with Truth About Drugs booklets, kicking off Red Ribbon Week festivities on Monday.
Annually, Red Ribbon Week is celebrated across the United States to bring drug awareness and prevention to the public eye. It is observed during the last week of October.
The Foundation for a Drug-Free South will be celebrating all week long. "Our speakers have lined up seminars to give in schools and will continue our campaign to distribute the Truth About Drugs materials throughout Tennessee," says Rev. Brian Fesler, who coordinates the Foundation activities in Nashville. The Foundation will deliver Truth About Drugs seminars to schools in Wilson, Crockett and Johnson Counties. They will also participate in a Halloween festival on October 27th.
"The Truth About Drugs are informational booklets that provide a complete understanding of what these drugs do to you," says Fesler. "Anybody, young or old, can read them and make better decisions about life."
The Foundation for a Drug-Free South is the local chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World, an international education initiative which provides hundreds of thousands of educational booklets for youth and adults alike to learn the hazards of drugs.
