FosterParentCollege.com(R) Seeks Volunteers for Study on New Classes
Volunteers are needed to help us study 2 new NIH-funded classes. Volunteers must be interested in becoming a foster parent. All parts of the study are done online, when it is convenient for you, and most complete it in 2 1/2 hours. $40 paid upon completion of all parts of study.
- Eugene-Springfield, OR (1888PressRelease) June 08, 2011 - FosterParentCollege.com® seeks 150 people who are interested in becoming foster parents to participate in a study of two new classes. Those who complete all portions of the study will receive $40. The study is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
All portions of the study are completed online and most people complete it in about two-and-a-half hours over the course of 3 days to 2 weeks. Participants work at their own pace and when it is convenient for them.
All participants will fill out a background questionnaire and pretest. Some will watch a course on "Attachment" or "The Child Welfare Team." All will complete a posttest. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effectiveness of these online, interactive classes.

FosterParentCollege.com provides interactive online training for foster, adoptive and kinship parents. There are 29 courses available at this time. Titles include "Substance-Exposed Infants," "Child Abuse and Neglect," "Grief and Loss in the Care System," "Culturally Competent Parenting," and "Child Safety and Supervision."
