- (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2013 - FossilShale Embedded Technologies announcesFS-DM385-SOM Tiny Evaluation Module for Texas Instruments Flagship Davinci SoC TMS320DM385 SoC for HD decoding and encoding applications.
FossilShale Embedded Technologies (P) Ltd., a leading Embedded Product Design services company specializing in the development of Platform Solutions for the Consumer Electronics, Wireless networking and Surveillance industry announces the launch of its Integrated Tiny Evaluation Module solution to the market.
The Tiny Evaluation Module can also be used as a System on Module with 244-Pin SODIMM connector for connectivity with external carrier board. The Tiny Evaluation Module will be helpful for customers who are looking for a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 chipset with the Video accelerators and want to evaluate their application solution for HD media processing upto 1080p 60 fps.
The Module has DM385 ARM Cortex 1GHZ SoC, HDMI, USB OTG, AV Input / Output, DDR3, NAND Flash, TFT LCD Interface (24-bit RGB), IR receiver, DC Power Jack, Micro SD/MMC connector, MIPI Camera Interface, I2C, SPI, JTAG, UART, PMIC, Accelerometer and SODIMM (244 Pin) making it to work as an independent evaluation module. The module brings out all the key interfaces of the SoC (SATA, USB, Ethernet, PCIe, Parallel Camera Interface, I2C, SPI, GPIO, etc.) for use in the external Carrier boards through MO-244C board to board connector.
FossilShale provides the customer option to select the required configuration based on his application needs to make it as a cost effective Evaluation Module solution. The Tiny Evaluation module with the key peripherals alone (SoC, DDR, Flash) acts as a System on Module and can be hooked up with the customer's Carrier board to unleash the entire capabilities of the SoC.
FossilShale also has the following accessory boards that work along with the Evaluation Module.
1. FossilShale's Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n Board
2. FossilShale's LCD Board with provision for 5", 7" and 10" LCM with Touch Panels
3. FossilShale's Camera Module with MIPI interface supporting 5 / 10 / 12 Megapixel sensors
FossilShale also has the carrier board for System on Module with the following key peripherals.
• Ethernet ( 2 Ports)
• SATA ( 2 Ports)
• USB (1 Host Port)
• Mini PCIe (1 Port)
• Parallel Camera Input
• GPIOs
• I2C
• SPI
• 30-Bit Digital Video Output
• 16-bit Digital Video Input
Customers interested in customizing the FS-DM385-SOM can approach FossilShale for getting the support. The FS-DM385-SOM board will be available for purchase from FossilShale on June 01, 2013.
