- Fort Myers-Cape Coral, FL (1888PressRelease) January 21, 2011 - In Bonita Springs, RCMA Headstart and Rev. Geri Franke of Harvest Time Ministries have started a collection program for children's shoes and clothing, to ensure that no child in Southwest Florida has to go without these necessities. Foot Solutions of Estero, a running and specialty shoe store located next to Publix on US 41 & Corkscrew Rd., is a collection drop-off point for shoes to be donated to these organizations.
"I attended the Brooks Health Fair, and was informed about the need for shoes by a representative from Lighthouse Bay who was working with these local charities," said Chris Cole, owner of Foot Solutions of Estero. "We were collecting shoes for an international charity called 'Soles4Souls', but really wanted to contribute to those in need locally as well."
In their November shoe drive, Foot Solutions of Estero collected over 500 pairs of shoes for RCMA Headstart, Harvest Time Ministries, and Soles4Souls. Shoes were donated to children and families in need throughout Naples, Bonita, Estero, and Fort Myers
"When local businesses like Foot Solutions hear of a need in the community and go above and beyond, everyone benefits," said Elaine Rumble of Lighthouse Bay at the Brooks, who also donated numerous bags of clothing to both worthy causes.
