Entertainment industry mogul publishes a book.
- (1888PressRelease) March 03, 2012 - Former Madonna record producer, Stevie B, recently secured a publishing contract with Publish America, an international book publishing house. Rushing into print his novel titled Pajamas on a Sun Stained Beach at the end of 2011. Publish America has now announced that it's available in bookstores nationwide.
"Pajamas on a Sun Stained Beach" is a work of literary fiction that chronicles the dying thoughts of a drowning man and not only explores biological death but also the death of our dreams. Within 202 pages the manuscript covers 50+ years of the character's life (1954-2010) and uses the death of the American dream as a basic subtext. This book is intended to not only work in published form but is also adaptable to film as well as a blueprint for various video/computer games.
The tale's protagonist, Paul Jones Palin, is a deeply depressed, severely stressed, self-medicating dysphoric agoraphobic on the verge of suicide. He's made and lost moderate fortunes, married and divorced three times and is terminally ill. Alone in a post 9-11 New York City P.J. struggles through the not-so-great recession with neither health insurance nor hope. Just when things couldn't get any worse…
But it's not just his disease that's killing him - it's the irony!
The author, Stevie B, signed his first record deal with a major label (Decca Records) while still in his early teens. Over the years he's produced records and written songs for such international megastars as Madonna and many other artists. In addition, he's been involved with a number of gold and platinum R.I.A.A. awarded projects and is still actively involved in the entertainment promotion and marketing business. This has allowed him to work with such chart topping composers as L. Russell Brown ("Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree"), Tommy James ("Tighter, Tighter", "Alive and Kicking") and Chris Butler ("I Know What Boys Like", "Christmas Wrapping").
Beginning in 2007 he created and was head writer for "The M3Radio Independent News". Their audience grew from several hundred viewers from the time of its inception to close to three quarters of a million by the time the program went off air in February of 2009. Most recently Stevie B's been writing music and book reviews that have been published in several periodicals.
When asked about why he decided to sign up with Publish America, Stevie B replied, "While the publishing advance wasn't as big as I would've liked I did like Publish America's reputation for paying their authors. I'm getting too old to be a starving artist."
