- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) August 24, 2014 - The Forbes Living TV show will look at the case of Shawna Lynn Palmer, 22, of Riverside California. She was competing in the Miss Toyota competition at the Long Beach Grand Prix, looking elegant in her stiletto shoes. In fact, she handled the high heels rather deftly, with poise and style. Unfortunately, she had claimed to be suffering from a broken big toe and was collecting worker's compensation benefits because she alleged to be incapable of working. She had supposedly fractured her toe while on the job in a supermarket and was taking some time off while receiving the insurance money. Ms. Palmer was charged with three felony counts of defrauding the insurance company and was last reported to be free on bail awaiting her hearing ... and probably not contemplating entering any further beauty pageants.
