- (1888PressRelease) July 19, 2013 - In 2010, Forbes Magazine named EMM Group's Hospitality entrepreneurs, Eugene Remm along with his co-partner Mark Birnbaum, "The New Kings of New York Nightlife." As the 2007 economic crisis heightened, Eugene Remm's first venture, Tenjune, the chic, 5,000-square-foot nightlife property located in the heart of Manhattan's Meatpacking District, continued to boom.
Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum opened Tenjune in 2006, and since then the pair has continued to successfully build their hospitality empire with new restaurants, lounges, events and a luxury concierge service. After Tenjune's success, Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum quickly began to expand and diversify their portfolio with the addition of The Estate, multifunctional event space located in Sag Harbor in the Hamptons. In 2008, the duo then partnered with the W Hotel in Hoboken to manage The Chandelier Room, a high-end lounge with exceptional views of the NYC landscape.
In 2009, EMM Group's Eugene Remm and Mark Birnbaum continued to mark their territory in the Meatpacking District by taking over the space formerly known as Lotus. They transformed the multi-level property into SL, a sleek nightlife venue known for hosting high profile events and Abe & Arthur's, their first restaurant venture located above SL featuring an authentic menu of American crave-able classics.
Since the 2009 introduction of Abe & Arthur's and SL, EMM Group has continued to expand their portfolio with the Fall 2011 openings of Catch NYC and Lexington Brass.
Summer 2011, marked the opening of SL's first outpost, SL East, located in East Hampton, New York. Soon after in summer 2012, EMM Group partnered into HQ Nightclub, HQ Beach Club and The Social at Revel Resort in Atlantic City.
EMM Group's most recent project includes the multi-concept space at 199 Bowery featuring The General, a modern Asian-cuisine restaurant that features a separate downstairs Jazz Room and Finale, their newest and largest New York nightlife venue. Just this past fall, EMM Group opened Catch Miami, the first outpost to date of the popular Manhattan restaurant and SL Miami, the second outpost of the trendy nightlife venue SL, both of which are located inside of The James Royal Palm on Collins Avenue in South Beach.
