For Who I Am Curve Appeal National Convention for Curvy Women is Heading to the Chicago Area
Project Curve Appeal, Protégée Management, & Pink City Corp are multicultural organizations dedicated to promoting, empowering and educating women to celebrate their beauty and embrace their curves while living a healthy lifestyle.
- Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2014 - They are host of the annual For Who I Am Curve Appeal Convention being held on October 3 - 5, 2014 at the Westin Chicago Northwest, 400 Park Boulevard in Itasca, Illinois.
The For Who I Am Curve Appeal Convention is designed to bring women, groups, clubs, and organizations together to unite for the ultimate experience to network, shop, enjoy fashion shows, photo shoots, and various forms of entertainment. This year's convention attendees will also participate in empowerment workshops including topics on health, proper body foundation, fashion styling, makeup application, maintaining healthy hair, and other topics that pertain to women. In addition, part of the proceeds from the convention will benefit the Project Curve Appeal's 2015 Curvy Girls and Future Leaders Summer camp for girl ages 11-17.
Starting Friday, October 3, 2014 the convention will welcome members from all over the country. New members and those interested will get a chance to learn more about the organization's mission, goals and meet those from the 20 plus chapters around the country. The evening will end with a fun, meet and greet Pajama Jam event.
The convention kicks into full blast on Saturday, October 4, 2014 with workshops about fashion tips and production techniques, photo shoot training and branding yourself and business with special guest speaker and owner of Ice Cream Lady Haute Hosiery, Latrice Mosley-Smith. The afternoon highlighted event is the prestigious Respect My Curve Appeal 2014 Curvy Icon Award. This year's honoraree is Latasha Haskins, CEO of LM Productions, LLC and Founder of Miss Plus USA! Latasha started as an agency plus size model in 2005, working for prestigious clients such as Nordstrom, Macy's and Eddie Bauer. She was introduced to pageantry in the fall of 2007 when her competition journey began leading her to compete three consecutive years before being crowned the 8th Miss Plus America! Following her reign, she established herself in the Northwest as a notable fashion and pageant director, ultimately leading her to create her own national pageant system, Miss Plus USA®!
To close out the evening attendees will have the opportunity to experience the notable I Rock My Curve Appeal Fashion and Shopping Expo in the must wear Shades of Blue, hosted by Chicago native comedian B.L.T. The featured fashion designers hitting the runways are: Larkens, ETof A, the Ice Cream Lady Haute Hosiery, Blair Chics, 3 Strings and Mack Couture.
The last day of the convention, Sunday, October 5, 2014 is a day full of opportunities for new and seasoned members to plan for the 2015 agenda. This will be another opportunity for attendees to get photo shoots for their professional and business needs and participate in the Face of Curve Appeal brand ambassador training and selection. The much anticipated event hosted by Project Curve Appeal in 2015 is the Curvy Idol competition and in Chicago contestants may submit entries for competition with over $5000 in prizes.
