FOCUS Adventure Organizes a Unique Team-Building Workshop for a Petroleum Company in Arunachal Pradesh, India
Incorporating motivational exercises and exciting challenges, FOCUS Adventure organized a collaborative team building programme for the offshore team of GeoEnpro. Set in the 'land of the rising sun', Arunachal Pradesh, the team building activities aimed at improving team communication and help them take pride in their work.
- (1888PressRelease) January 31, 2013 - FOCUS Adventure, a leading fun-based corporate learning program provider, had organized an exclusive programme to foster collaboration and team spirit among the offshore team of GeoEnpro, a leading petroleum company based in Arunachal Pradesh.
GeoEnpro had already benefited from FOCUS Adventure's MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) session for their senior leadership team. This indoor team building event's objective was to make the participants gain enhanced awareness of their working behaviour, drawing out their potential and improving relationships.
The effectiveness of this session made the company approach FOCUS Adventure for a team building programme to be organized for their offshore employees based out of the Oil Field.
FOCUS Adventure laid out a unique set of activities to inculcate a feeling of pride and respect towards their job. The other aim was to enable the team (comprising of engineers, geologists, doctors, HR executives, accountants, production managers and security officers) work in unison and build better rapport with their colleagues.
Since these employees work at an offshore site, it is common for them to feel lonely or isolated. Therefore, FOCUS facilitators put together such activities that helped participants open up to their team members and derive enthusiasm and motivation to work best.
This project was challenging for FOCUS Adventure as the whole session had to be conducted in a vernacular language. Always keen for such opportunities, FOCUS Adventure took it willingly.
FOCUS Adventure organized an interesting activity of designing and building a pipeline. "This fun activity cleverly tapped the skills of the team members and gave them a platform to design and build. By giving them an exercise closely resembling to their field of work, we helped the participants to relate the difficulties and challenges to the ones they encounter in their work, and how they can solve them," said Arun Rao, Facilitator at FOCUS Adventure, India.
Each activity was followed by a session of discussion, wherein the participants spoke about what they learnt and how it could help in improving their productivity. The unanimous feeling was that it is better and fulfilling to work together as a team.
"After building the pipeline, the several teams were asked to join their pipes together. Interestingly, each team member worked as one big team - easily handling and joining the pipes. Post the activities, each member spoke about how committed they felt towards their work and respected their jobs a lot more. That is an achievement for us as well. We are happy that we have helped them perform better as a team," Rao said.
