Florida Panthers and Gift of Life Marrow Registry to Host Bone Marrow Donor and Transplant Recipient First-Time Meeting
Gift of Life Hockey Fights Cancer donor recruitment drive to be held on November 22 at BB&T Center.
- (1888PressRelease) November 14, 2017 - The Florida Panthers and Gift of Life Marrow Registry have partnered to host a first-time meeting for a bone marrow donor and their transplant recipient at BB&T Center on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 prior to the Florida Panthers match-up against the Dallas Stars. After their introduction the pair will enjoy the Panthers game with both of their families.
The Panthers will also host a marrow donor recruitment drive at BB&T Center on November 22 at the Panthers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs game. The donor registration will take place from when doors open to the end of the second intermission inside of South Main doors and in the Den of Honor.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the drive. It’s fast, painless and all information is confidential. If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match. Fans who would like to join the marrow registry, but are unable to attend the game on November 22 may order a donor kit online here: giftoflife.org/register.
