Pizzeria Asks Fans and Community Members to Honor Law Enforcement Officials and Help Raise Dough for Fallen Officers Fund.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) September 10, 2011 - To mark the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks and honor the 72 law enforcement officers who lost their lives that day, Flippin' Pizza is giving back and supporting the Police Benevolent Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides financial support to the families and survivors of officers killed in the line of duty. Flippin' Pizza, the neighborhood pizzeria known for its community outreach programs, is donating 50 percent of proceeds from select purchases made in its 12 locations throughout California, Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. on Sept. 11.
Flippin' Pizza fans and local community members are invited to play a vital role in fundraising efforts by saying "PBF" when they order at any one of Flippin' Pizza's stores. For every "PBF" order placed, Flippin' Pizza will donate 50 percent of proceeds to the Police Benevolent Foundation's Fallen Officers Fund. People wishing to participate can order any of Flippin' Pizza's pies, including fan favorites Whitestone, Buffalo Chicken and Four Cheeses - all made with no added oils or sugars and without high fructose corn syrup.
"The Flippin' Pizza brand was built on its commitment to high-quality pizza and giving back to the community," said Patrick Farley, CEO of Flippin' Pizza. "We are honored to be partnering with an organization that supports the families of our fallen heroes. This is a great opportunity for the community to come together in support of a wonderful cause, remember the lives we lost 10 years ago, and enjoy their favorite pie or slice."
The Police Benevolent Foundation was established in 2005 to support the families and survivors of fallen officers. Since its creation, the Police Benevolent Foundation has allocated 100 percent of its received donations to its intended purposes, which include providing families and survivors with a salary replacement program, sponsoring youth scholarships and funding activities and services in support of law enforcement.

About the Police Benevolent Foundation:
The Police Benevolent Foundation supports the families of fallen law enforcement officers by providing a salary replacement program (the Fallen Officer Fund) which replaces the annual salary of the fallen hero and disburses it to the officer's beneficiaries. The PBF also provides scholarships for youth pursuing criminology degrees; disaster relief to officers during times of natural or man-made disasters; free PTSD seminars and suicide prevention resources aimed at educating police professionals and family members about the effects of PTSD and its link to the high rate of suicide among cops. 100 percent of money donated to the PBF goes to its intended purpose. No administrative fees, fundraising fees, etc. are deducted. Those costs are covered by law enforcement officer dues paid to the Southern States PBA.
