Fodor's have just outlined their picks for the world's most amazing ziplines - choosing Flight of the Gibbon among their list!
(1888PressRelease) March 30, 2016 - We've caught their eye as South East Asia's longest single flight at over 2600 feet and we're also Asia's highest. Flight of the Gibbon offers tandem flying on what is dubbed the "honeymoon" ziplines and boast some of the world's most stunning panoramic views from our stations. But that's not all: our park features more than 5km of ziplines, spanning 30 stations, two hanging sky bridges and two rappels and a treehouse.
Not surprisingly, Fodor's identify it as an adrenaline junkie's dream come true, an opinion our visitors share. Mateo Askaripour, a recent visitor to Mae Kampong told us: "The zipline was amazing! It's interesting and the instructors were well-versed in their surroundings. The zipline was a true thrill and is something that everyone (regardless of age!) should try."
Based in Mae Kampong in Northern Thailand, Flight of the Gibbon started eight years ago and is now considered by many to be among the leading attractions in Southeast Asia. But we're more than just an adventure tourism company. As its name suggests, animals are high on the company's list of priorities. In 2007, FOTG's founders rescued two abandoned and mistreated gibbons and taught them how to cope in the wild again. Now they live in the forests where our ziplines are located with their babies.
Flight of the Gibbon invests a percentage of profits into primate rehabilitation, afforestation projects and ecological education programmes. Collaborating closely with the local community, Flight of the Gibbon staff and volunteers work tirelessly to improve the environment and living conditions for everyone. From supporting clean ups in the local area to creating fire breaks to minimise the impact of slash and burn agriculture, we've never been satisfied in limiting ourselves to financial support.
