- Salt Lake City-Ogden, UT (1888PressRelease) July 15, 2010 - Showcasing its commitment to meet the educational aspirations of service-members, Stevens-Henager College has announced a range of online degrees for Veterans and active duty military personnel.
These flexible online learning programs are designed to help them advance their ranks or prepare for life after the military. Unlike traditional classroom degrees, where students are bound to a geographic location, online degrees fit the lifestyle of military personnel and allow them to pursue their academic interests from wherever they are deployed.
Whether you want to complete an earlier unfinished college degree or earn a higher degree to build your career, Stevens-Henager College has a program for you.
From Associate's degrees in business management and graphic arts to Bachelor's courses in accounting, health science, and nursing - members of the armed forces have the pick of sought after programs.
Stevens-Henager College also offers graduate degrees such as Master of Business Administration, Master's in Healthcare Administration, Master's in Nursing Administration, and Master's in Nursing Education to service-members. The last two programs, however, are open to qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) only.
All these online programs are offered by the Salt Lake City/Murray campus of Stevens-Henager College.
Besides offering flexible, accredited degrees, Stevens-Henager College also helps military personnel through the process of receiving the educational benefits and discounts they may be eligible for. Some of the benefits that are available to service-members include:
GI Bill: This bill covers the cost of education and training for active duty personnel as well as Veterans of the military.
DANTES: This program allows service-members to take college-level equivalency exams that will help them cut classes for subjects they're already proficient in.
ACE: This program lets service-members take academic credit for the training they've received.
Legacy Grant: This grant entitles a service-member and his/her spouse or a member of their immediate family to certain educational discounts if they enroll at the same time.
Matching Funds: As part of this benefit, active duty service members are eligible to receive $5,000 for an Associate's degree and $10,000 for a Bachelor's degree.
