  • (1888PressRelease) August 10, 2011 - Flesh Weapon is an entity that is seen with the ears and heard with the eyes. Indeed. The band Flesh Weapon will reel you in and maybe, just for the heck of it, spit you out - but you come out loving it. Listening to them and watching their live shows, you'll be put to a musical wringer and in the end, you'll ask for more.

Flesh Weapon is Jason Franks aka NoS LeRatZ (pronounced Le-rats) on vocals/APC40/keyboards, Paul Dommert aka Paulie Gone also on vocals/MPD18/keyboards, and Todd Graham aka Toad on vocals/guitars. What's with all the versatility and technical equipment expertise, you may ask. The thing is: That's what Flesh Weapon is all about - fusion, amalgamation, mutation of the good kind. This is a band that uses machines and human talents as the main ingredients for powerful electro-industrial hip-hop rock - a dark and atmospheric genre that's dangerous yet musical as well. You would think that it's impossible to achieve - but Flesh Weapon did.

Originating from San Jose, California, Flesh Weapon was the brainchild of music artists/producers Jason Franks and Paul Dommert. They got together in 2001 even while Paul was still a member of the hip-hop collective Euphonic Flux and Jason was in the midst of writing his second solo project: a spoken word/trip hop experiment titled 'The Poetree'. Jason and Paul also started Paragraphics Music (PGFX) with other collaborators but this eventually dissolved.

Jason's solo project 'Don't Drink The Kool-Aide' as his alter-ego NoS LeRatZ was then released and not going stale himself, Paul under the moniker Head Rush, put out 'The Junkie Rooster EP' with his hip-hop duo Brain Cell Massacre.
In 2009, Jason and Paul decided to solely focus on collaborating with each other and as a duo called Modus Ops, they holed up in a recording studio writing song after song. They then reached out to Todd Graham, a veteran vocalist with unparalleled talents on the guitar, piano, and saxophone. Todd is the lead vocals for heavy metal group Dimidium and he continuously spearheads the group. The trio became Flesh Weapon: a band that defies convention and encompasses many genres. Who else would mix sampling horror tracks with hip-hop? In Flesh Weapon's live performances, they recreate their intricate sound in front of a live audience using Ableton Live along with various midi controllers and guitar - it's a marvel of music, technology, and delicious thriller.

Flesh Weapon's EP is ready for download at iTunes distributed by JMD Records and INgrooves, a partner of Universal Music Group.
