Flame Retardants in Certain Products to be Regulated in US State of Georgia

A law has been proposed in the US state of Georgia that is intended to regulate flame retardants in consumer goods. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) February 14, 2025 - Geneva – SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published SafeGuardS 020.25, reporting Georgia’s proposals to regulate flame retardants in certain consumer goods.

HB 9, the ‘Safer States Act’, was introduced on January 13, 2025. If approved, it would revise Chapter 15 of Title 25 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to other safety inspections and regulations. It will take effect once it becomes law.
