- Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2011 - The national law firm of Fish & Richardson is pleased to announce that Texas attorneys Tom Melsheimer and David J. Healey have earned spots on the 2011 Intellectual Asset Management Patent Litigation 250.
Mr. Melsheimer and Mr. Healey are among only 24 attorneys from Texas highlighted on this prestigious listing of the world's leading patent litigators. They join nine other Fish & Richardson attorneys from across the country recognized on the IAM Patent Litigation 250.
To compile the listing, IAM reporters interviewed outside attorneys and in-house counsel from more than 25 countries to determine the top 250 lawyers handling patent litigation around the world. The guide also recognized Fish as "one of the most revered firms for patent litigation in the United States" whose "competitors struggle to match its breadth of expertise."
According to the magazine, Fish & Richardson "maintains a notable footprint in the Texas market through its Houston and Dallas offices," highlighting the firm's leading work in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and other major patent litigation venues across the U.S.
Praised in the magazine as an "especially effective trial lawyer," Mr. Melsheimer is managing principal of Fish & Richardson's Dallas office and head of the Dallas trial practice. The magazine highlights his broad litigation experience with a major focus on IP litigation.
The magazine notes Mr. Healey's extensive antitrust and patent litigation experience, and singles out his work building the firm's Houston office, "which has gone from strength to strength," according to the magazine. Texas Lawyer newspaper has recognized him as one of five "Go-To" intellectual property attorneys in Texas, and Mr. Healey writes about IP trends on the patentmath.com blog.
