Fischer Barr & Wissinger LLC, Principal Quoted in NJBIZ
Monica Kaden Spoke With NJBIZ Reporter Beth Fitzgerald On How Medical Practice Mergers Present Doctors With Both Opportunities AND Challenges.
- (1888PressRelease) September 25, 2014 - Parsippany, NJ - Monica Kaden, MBA, ASA, Principal, Fischer Barr & Wissinger LLC, was recently quoted in NJBIZ "Healthcare Weekly."
The article, "Doctors responding to health care changes by merging practices, but there are risks to that, too," focused on how mergers present doctors with opportunities and risks, and the experts who advise physicians try to maximize the financial advantages - and design exit strategies in case the deal doesn't work.
Monica Kaden, one of the experts highlighted states, "This is a period of uncertainty for a lot of physicians, and there is comfort in becoming part of a larger group. But doctors who have grown accustomed to autonomy may not adapt well to being part of a very large practice, or becoming employed by a hospital. For that reason, a deal may allow doctors to keep their own Medicare reimbursement number post-merger, so they can more easily go back to being independent if there's a parting of the ways." She goes on to offer additional comments throughout the article.
