Barr has more than 40 years of public accounting experience. He is a national thought leader and frequent public speaker in connection with the valuation of closely held, family owned businesses. Eric has conducted seminars on the valuation of pass-through entities to the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants; and has presented national webinars for BV Resources and Consultants Training Institute. He has written articles for The Value Examiner, The CPA Journal, BV Update and other publications. Eric has testified as an expert in the areas of business valuation, commercial litigation, forensic accounting and lost profits analysis.
Furthermore, Eric Barr has written a book, Valuing Pass-Through Entities, which will be published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc., in October of 2014. Historically, the valuation community, the courts and the IRS have taken seemingly conflicting positions on the proper way to value pass-through entities.
