This ninety-minute intermediate to advanced level presentation exposes traps for the unwary when attempting to secure collateral, as well as recent legislation that affects the perfection process. The program will also discuss recent cases that challenge whether a creditor has done their perfection correctly and demonstrate what can happen if they have not.

First Corporate Solutions' guest speaker for the event is attorney and respected UCC scholar, Michael L. Weissman, Of Counsel at Levin & Ginsburg in Chicago, IL. Mr. Weissman formerly served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Bridgeview Bank Group. He represents banks and commercial lenders in a wide variety of lending transactions and defends them in commercial litigation. He is a frequent author of articles that appear in publications of the American Bankers Association, the Risk Management Association and the Illinois Bankers Association. He recently authored a book titled "Commercial and Industrial Loan Documentation" published by IICLE Press. He has taught Secured Transactions at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
