Risk management, commodities & energy and valuation data, asset management users, and key Asia countries expected to lead growth
(1888PressRelease) May 11, 2010 - Burton-Taylor International Consulting LLC, a leading market research, strategy and business consulting organization, today released results from their survey of 76 market data vendor executives, users and consultants indicating that demand for financial information will grow slightly in 2010 and accelerate in 2011.
The weighted average of all survey responses suggests that Risk Managers, Hedge Funds and Portfolio Managers will be the user groups with the fastest growing demand in 2010, with increases of 3.77%, 2.63% and 2.17% respectively.
Using the same measure, survey responses suggest that China, India and Asia (ex Japan) will lead demand for market data and news in 2010 and 2011, with the US and Western Europe showing increased spend in 2011.
Weighted average survey responses also suggest that Risk Management Tools, Low-latency Feeds and Valuation Data products will drive demand in both 2010 and 2011, with Commodities & Energy Real-time Data and Pricing & Reference Data also showing strong demand over the period.
"Changing regulations, increased sophistication of instruments, technological advances and the recent global recession have impacted the types of information and tools demanded in the industry, as well as the available spend," says Douglas B. Taylor, Managing Partner of Burton-Taylor. "Market data executives and users indicate to us that the recent downturn has bottomed and that spending is increasing in selected segments and across targeted products."
