Price Toyota, a New Castle, DE, Toyota dealer, supported Toyota's Tundra Food Drive in an effort to aid with local hunger relief.
- Wilmington-Newark, DE-MD (1888PressRelease) December 28, 2011 - Toyota worked to haul away hunger with their fifth annual Tundra Food Drive and Price Toyota joined the fight. In an effort to support local hunger relief, the Philadelphia Union partnered with Tri-State Toyota dealers, including Price Toyota, to collect food items for Philabundance, a local food bank and hunger relief organization.
In the last four years of this event, Price Toyota, along with 24 other local Toyota dealerships and the Philadelphia Flyers, 76ers, Phillies, and Union have collected over 42,000 pounds of non-perishable food for Philabundance.
"Between the 25 dealerships in the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association and with the support of our partners, the goal is to collect over 20,000 pounds of food in 2011 for Philabundance," said Paul Muller, Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association President.
The executive director of Philabundance praised the Tri-State Toyota Dealers Association for its help stating they are the ones that really make a difference. "We have seen a 26 percent increase in need over the last year and now more than ever we need the communities support."
Food items were collected at Price Toyota as well as the other 24 Tri-State Toyota dealers and over 30 Toyota Tundra pick-up trucks delivered the food to the Philabundance Hunger Relief Center in Philadelphia. The pickup trucks were lead by Paul Muller. Philabundance president Bill Clark, Phillies mascot "The Phanatic," and select Union players were on hand to greet and help unload the convoy as it arrived at Philabundance.
"The support from the Toyota Tundra food drive not only collects thousands of pounds needed to help provide meals for those in need every year, but it brings the issue of hunger top of mind for many of our neighbors," says Bill Clark, president of Philabundance.
