Festus MO Real Estate Agent Gwen Crocker Reports About the 2nd Annual Festus Gong Show
The 2nd Annual Festus Gong Show was set on Saturday, 14th of July 2012 at the Sunset Park grand stand, as reported by Festus MO Real Estate Agent Gwen Crocker.
- (1888PressRelease) January 20, 2012 - The first ever Festus Gong Show which was hosted by The Friends of the Festus Parks and the Festus Park Board last summer of 2011 was quite successful. Thus, the 2nd Annual Festus Gong Show was set on Saturday, 14th of July 2012 at the Sunset Park grand stand, as reported by Festus MO Real Estate Agent Gwen Crocker.
The Festus Gong Show is an event that showcases the talents of the citizens of Festus MO. This year the event will begin with a talent show for anyone under the age of 15 years and will be held from 7:30 pm to 8:00 pm. The Festus Gong Show, open for contestants 15 years old and above will begin at 8:00 pm. The contestants may perform song numbers, juggling techniques, pet tricks, or sports, acrobat and dance routines, etc. Each contestant will be alotted 2-3 minutes to perform. The winners will be given cash prizes as follows: $50 for the third place winner, $100 for the second place winner and $200 for 2nd Annual Festus Gong Show champion.
Last year, the Festus Gong Show was participated by 21 contestants whose ages ranged from ten to 73 years. The audience nearly reached 200 despite the hot weather. The third place winner who was given $50 total prize was 44-year old Patti Govero who sang "Another Soldier's Coming Home." The $100 second prize went to the Rivertown Sound Barberhop Quartet, which included 38 year old Bill Dean, 41 year old Aaron Hardin, 63 year old Dan Monahan and 68-year old Paul Ogle who sang "Blue Moon." The fantastic performance given by 19-year old Rachel Oxenfeld won the $200 first prize. The event was hosted by Chris Hagen of the Metro Office Supply whose look changes everytime a new contestant comes out and perform. Last year's event was judged by Matt West of KJFF, Kathryn Tripp of Friends of the Festus Parks and by Festus Chief, Tim Lewis.
