Euromonitor International Estimate The Middle East Market For Traditional Toys And Games To Reach $5.3 Billion Worth By 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) November 30, 2011 - With the onset of the festival season in the Middle East, international toy manufacturers, importers, distributors and retailers are looking forward to the customary turbo-boost to the sales of toys and games during this period.
Traditionally the months encompassing Eid, National Day, Christmas and the New Year, have been a busy time for the regional market, as shoppers readily loosen their purse strings to buy festival cheer for their youngsters.
This year is expected to be no different according to Epoc Messe Frankfurt, the organiser of Playworld Middle East, the region's premier marketing, trade and networking event for toys, games and children's lifestyle products.
"With the market for toys and games in an upbeat mood in the Middle East, this holiday season is expected to generate a high volume of sales of traditional toys and games, thanks to the strong custom of gift giving during this period," said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.
"According to current estimates from Euromonitor International, the Middle East market for traditional toys and games is expected to reach US$ 5.3 billion worth this year, with growth continuing to be amongst the fastest worldwide. The markets of Asia, including the countries of the Middle East and the emerging giants China and India continue to be important drivers of sales growth worldwide," Pauwels added.*
Mr. Vicken S. Setrakian, Managing Director from Party Centre, one of the exhibitors at Playworld Middle East in March, said: "This is one of the busiest periods for us. There are so many events on and festive celebrations that we find we have a major increase in footfall to our store over these months. With UAE National Day approaching, as well as the festive end of year period, people are stocking up on all categories of party supplies and accessories. It is a great way to bring some light hearted good cheer to events and adds to celebrations."
Taking place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from March 6th to 8th, 2012, Playworld Middle East brings the world of kids to this exciting market. Leading international manufacturers and suppliers of toys, games and children's products consider the trade fair to be an important launching pad into a promising region.
Playworld Middle East 2012 will feature the latest range of toys, games and children's lifestyle products from the likes of Gulf Greetings, Playwell International, Party Centre, Simba Middle East, Glory Horizons, White Heart and Ravissant amongst others.
