Feinmann is meeting the guideline's of the EPA's regulations regarding the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning.
Boston, MA-NH (1888PressRelease) April 14, 2010 - Local design/build firm Feinmann's is ready to meet the EPA Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) requirements that take effect on April 22, 2010. The requirements are aimed at preventing lead poisoning.
"Three of our team have completed the EPA's training and earned certification as Lead Renovators, which will benefit both workers and homeowners," said Peter Feinmann, President of Feinmann, Inc. "This training in specific lead safe work practices such as dust containment and cleanup ensure that lead paint is not disturbed during demolition. In fact, we've been practicing safe lead removal since the early 90s and will continue to take every precaution to protect our clients."
Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children.
To protect against this risk, on April 22, 2008, EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Feinmann became a certified company as of March 24, 2010 meeting all of the EPA guidelines. To read the full announcement on the Feinmann website, please visit: http://www.feinmann.com/news.php
