Singer-songwriter Tien Huang would rather create music that lifts spirits than push you over the edge. 'If my songs can make someone's day better, then I have done my job. I want to instill a fun and carefree message,' says the Los Angeles, California native. And that in itself is a breath of fresh air.
Tien Huang began her musical aspirations at five years old. She learned to play the keyboard which she calls her 'lifesaver' because it offers a wide array of sounds and tunes, amplifying the music she creates. Influences range from divas Mariah Carey, Pink to Madonna, to R&B's Brian McKnight and Chris Brown, and to harmony-driven groups 'N Sync and Backstreet Boys. When it comes to genres, Tien does not discriminate especially if it's one that incites happy endorphins. 'If a song doesn't make me feel good, I change it'.
Tien writes all her songs and she's almost done it all - wrote about love ballads, composed rap rhymes, came up with dance beats, crafted pop tunes, and even produced foreign language tracks. 'I've written more than 50 songs to date,' Tien shares. 'I will continue writing, producing, and promoting my music.' Her spunky, experimental, and good vibes music is refreshingly original.
One of her upbeat quirky tracks is called 'The Friend Ditty' off her latest CD. 'The song is playful and light, and meant to take people to a stress-free and happy environment.' Indeed, one listen to it and you're instantly delighted. Indeed, Tien Huang knows how to take you to that happy place.
