FDDI organizes Seminar on 'CADS' at its Chennai & Noida campus
Citing about the relevance & requirement of the seminar, Mr. Raajeev j Lakhara, Managing Director, FDDI said, "The seminar was organized with an objective to magnify the technicians, managers from shoe factories, tanneries and manufacturers of other footwear materials with comprehensive knowledge about hazardous contaminants in footwear and footwear materials, their avoidance, and wherever technically feasible, their removal."
- (1888PressRelease) June 28, 2013 - The Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) in association with Prüf- und Forschungsinstitut Pirmasens e.V. (PFI), Germany organized a seminar on 'Cooperation for Avoiding Dangerous Substances in Shoes' (CADS) at its Chennai & Noida campus.
The generation and dissemination of knowledge for manufacturing and marketing shoes and shoe materials without hazardous substances as well as for environmentally compatible production is a matter of great concern for the manufacturer, buyers as well as for the sellers.
From CADS - Cooperation at DSI/ Deutsches Schuhinstitut GmbH, PFI, Gremany, Dr. Gerhard Nickolaus and Ms. Lulu lam; from CTC, France, Mr. Marie Plouhinec gave the presentation whereas FDD Dr. Kausik Ghosh, Chief Technologist from FDDI, Chennai gave the presentation about the latest regulation of Banned Chemicals. Dr. Ranjan, a senior chemist and freelancer also gave a presentation at FDDI, Noida.
"The seminar provided an insight in to the latest development in controlling pollutant in shoe, testing methodology and regulation in EU countries," added Mr. Lakhara.
A large number of participants including buyers, exporters attended the seminar where various topics i.e. CE Mark, REACH, VOC, DMFA etc. was discussed.
The flow of the seminar programme helped the participants to gain a better understanding of the complexity of the issue in order to then consider potential solutions based on concrete experiences and practices and to use these in safeguarding their reputation in the present competitive scenario besides reducing the risk in receiving poor quality/potentially hazardous products.
