FDDI, Chennai participates in the exhibition 'Ambur OPEN 4'

The exhibition of Finished Leather, Accessories, Components, Technology and Machinery so aptly called the Ambur OPEN was held in the inspiring ambiance of Ambur Trade Centre.
The exhibition was supported by organizations and associations which included Ambur Economic Development Organization Ltd. (AEDOL), All India Skin & Hide Tanners Merchants Association (AISHTMA), Agra Footwear Manufacturers and Exporters Chamber (AFMEC), Council for Leather Exports (CLE), CSIR-Central Leather Research Institute (CSIR-CLRI),Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI), Pernambut Tanners Association (PTA), South India Tanners and Dealers Association (SITDA) and Vaniyambadi Tanners Association (VTA).
Sharing the details, Mr. Raajeev j Lakhara, Managing Director, FDDI, said "Ambur OPEN, a 'flagship event' of the region is growing bigger year after year, helping participants explore new business propositions and successful in providing a platform to create stronger ties with the global leather fraternity."
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr. P Shankar, IAS, Hon'ble District Collector, Vellore in the august presence of Guests of Honour, Mr. A Aslam Basha, MLA, Mr. M Mohamed Hashim, Padmashri M Rafeeque Ahmed, Mr.N Shafeeq Ahmed, Mr. R Ramesh Kumar, IAS, Prof. Dr. AB Mandal, Mr. T Rafeeq Ahmed, Mr. PV Gopalakrishna Bachi, Mr. Suresh Kumar and Mr. S Iqbal Modi.
The exhibitors category in the 'Ambur Open 4', included of synthetics / non-leather materials for linings, inter linings, trims /accessories, footbeds / insoles / stiffeners, lacing materials, elastics, fasteners (zippers, velcro, laces), lasts, outsoles, moulds, shanks, packaging materials, tapes, knife blades, threads, finished leather manufacturers.
Leading experts offered informative seminars highlighting the current needs of the industry encompassing presentations on issues related to Management, Environment, Finance and Technology, which give participants a value-added opportunity to be enlightened on these topics.
During the exhibition, the information about the 'Testing Facilities' available at the International Testing Centre (ITC), Chennai of the FDDI which is accredited by Shoe and Allied Trade Research Association (SATRA), UK & having ISO 17025 certification from DAKKS, Germany for testing of footwear & footwear components was provided through brochure and one-to-one meeting at its Stall No. 31 located in Hall No. C.

The leading tanners displayed their wares at the event which was attended by product manufacturers from across the country. Some of the finest leathers for shoes, handbags/accessories and leather garments were also on display.
