I feel really honored & appreciative to be recognized by the NY community. As a startup, it's exciting to have this kind of encouragement and support
New York, NY (1888PressRelease) September 21, 2010 - Today, Public Relations company Mackeonis and Associates, proudly announced that its client, entrepreneur, Jenn Chu, founder of Chu Shu, Inc. and developer of Silver Linings, won First Place in the Science Industry and Business Library's first annual New York StartUP! Business Plan Competition. during New York's 'Fashion Week.' Chu received $15,000 from the Citi Foundation to help her build her company, which offers innovative solutions for busy, fashion-conscious people. Her first product, Silver Linings, are the first 'fashionable' antimicrobial shoe liners for women, which are silver Agion® infused to keep feet odor-free. With bacteria-banishing and moisture-wicking features and a non-adhesive grip backing, these slim and pretty half-soles protect her expensive and favorite shoes, from perspiring feet when wearing shoes with bare feet.
With most shoe liners being so big and bulky that they change the way a shoe fits and doing very little to address the moisture issue, Ms. Chu saw a personal need for an ultra-thin antimicrobial shoe liner that would cut down on perspiration and odor and protect expensive shoes from being ruined. So after being laid off from her job, and equipped with a BS from Cornell in Chemical Engineering and an MBA from Northwestern, she decided that the time was right to start her own company. So she designed and developed a product that fit the bill, or should we say, the shoe, and Silver Linings were born. Jenn Chu comments, "I feel really honored and appreciative to be recognized by the NY community. As a startup, it's exciting to have this kind of encouragement and support."
Ms. Chu saw 'Fashion Week' as the perfect time to launch Silver Linings, as she views them as an important fashion accessory for style-conscious women of all ages. She would like to see them in premium stores worldwide and invites contact from interested U.S. and overseas distributors. Silver Linings of New York will be one of the co-sponsors of The Eva Longoria-Parker Rally For Kids For Cancer Charity event at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood on October 21st and the Oscars® in the spring of 2011.
Silver Linings are made in the U.S. and come in a package of three pairs, retailing for $15.99. One-size-fits-all with each pair lasting for about 30, 12 hour wears. One pair is recommended for each pair of shoes. Currently available at silverliningsnewyork.com, they are soon to be available at fine retailers and everywhere.
