Fashion Design Students Create Earth, Air, Fire and Water
The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale presents its semi-annual fashion design students' collections.
- Fort Lauderdale, FL (1888PressRelease) June 02, 2011 - The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale (AiFL) is back at it again. This year's semi-annual fashion show, Elements, will showcase garments designed by AiFL graduating fashion design students representing the culmination of their talent and education. All of the action takes place on Sunday, June 12 at the Renaissance Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. The evening will consist of two shows; the first show begins at 6pm and is open to the general public free of charge. High school students interested in fashion are encouraged to attend the show. The second show for VIP, guests, and media begins at 8pm.
The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale fashion design students' appropriately themed fashion show Elements will showcase vibrant and earth tone color palettes, a range of structures and textures in which each designer will represent each element of the earth both characteristically and symbolically:
• Earth - represents their hard work
• Air - represents creativity
• Fire - represents passion
• Water - represents expression
The semi-annual fashion show depicts the collaboration among students who are responsible for nearly every aspect of the show from production (concept to set design) to marketing and promotion handled by the fashion honors group. "I am consistently impressed by the level of commitment and collaboration displayed among the participating fashion students. It truly is a team effort," says Andre J. West, chair of the fashion department at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
