Farmville Wine Festival spotlights 13 Virginia Wineries in Historic Farmville, Virginia
The 3rd Annual Farmville Wine Festival on Saturday, April 21, features 13 of Virginia's finest wineries, plus gourmet food and music.
- Richmond-Petersburg, VA (1888PressRelease) April 12, 2012 - Come to historic, downtown Farmville on Saturday, April 21, for an outdoor Virginia wine festival, featuring some of Virginia's finest wineries and gourmet-food makers.
The Farmville Wine Festival will be held at Riverside Park in Farmville (recently named as a Virginia Main Street community), on the banks of the Appomattox River. Hours are 11am - 5pm.
There will also be fabulous food from area restaurants, plus arts and entertainment. Tickets are $20 for adults, with discounts for younger, non-wine-drinking attendees.
This will be the third year for this fun wine festival in Central Virginia, which benefits the Farmville Meals On Wheels community service program.
Thirteen (13) of Virginia's finest wineries will offer free wine tasting and wine for sale by the glass and by the bottle.
Attending this year are are the following: Annefield Vineyards (Saxe), Attimo Winery (Christiansburg), Bright Meadows Farm (Nathalie), DeVault Family Vineyards (Concord), Foggy Ridge Cider (Christiansburg), Greenwood Vineyards (Vernon Hill), Hill Top Berry Farm & Winery (Nellysford), Peaks of Otter Winery (Bedford), Rebec Vineyards (Amherst), Rosemont of Virginia (LaCrosse), Sans Soucy Vineyards (Brookneal), The Homeplace Vineyard (Chatham), and Thistle Gate Vineyard (Scottsville).
Each adult ticket purchase ($15 advance; $20/gate) includes a complimentary "Farmville Wine Festival" wine glass for tasting. For those "non-tasters", tickets are $10/each.
In addition to fabulous wine tasting, festival goers have access to two (2) dozen artisan and food vendors. The Performance Stage, sponsored by CENTRA Southside Community Hospital, features Longwood University jazz combos from 11:00am until 5:00pm.
In the event of bad weather, the festival will be held inside at Fuqua Lower School Commons.
