The month of October celebrates local community pharmacists and FamilyWize Community Service Partnership encourages everyone to take extra time to thank their pharmacists for their continued support and assistance.
(1888PressRelease) October 28, 2014 - FamilyWize Community Service Partnership, dedicated to building strong communities through better health, is proud to support American Pharmacists Month and encourages everyone to take extra time to thank their pharmacists for their continued support and assistance in helping individuals and families live better lives.
"At FamilyWize we believe that stronger, healthier and happier people make healthier and better communities," said Dan Barnes, CEO of FamilyWize. "Pharmacists are vital to health care in the United States through improved medication use and advanced patient care."
FamilyWize offers a free prescription savings card that provides savings for the uninsured and underinsured. The discounts and savings on medications are provided voluntarily by the more than 61,000 participating pharmacies that have agreed to provide prices similar to what they give large insurance companies and employers.
"Currently our prescription savings card has helped more than 7 million people save over 700 million dollars nationwide and we wouldn't have been able to make such an impact without the support of the local pharmacists," added Mr. Barnes. The American Pharmacists Association sponsors American Pharmacists Month every year during the month of October.
