Family Law firm put feet firmly forward with charity work
Family Law Specialists Hartnell Chanot & Partners are continuing to give back to the local community with their charitable work.
- (1888PressRelease) May 27, 2011 - After their tremendous efforts of raising £1100 for Comic Relief, Hartnell Chanot are continuing to support and carry out charitable work in an effort to give more back to the local community and support worthwhile causes.
The firm have recently chosen two charities to support over the next year. The Plymouth office will be supporting St Luke's Hospice, who care for people whose illnesses are no longer curable, enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life during the final stages of their illness. The team will sponsor the St Luke's Hospice Midnight Walk on Saturday 30th July 2011. The Exeter office will be sponsoring local charity Force, who support anyone affected by cancer.
Associate Legal Executive Jill Read-Brown, based in the Exeter office is also putting her feet firmly forward by taking on the physical challenge of running the BUPA 10k run on behalf of charity. Refuge is a national charity for women and children who experience domestic violence, providing emergency accommodation and emotional and practical support.
In 2009 Jill won Legal Executive of the Year for her work with women suffering domestic abuse so she knows only too well how important services such as Refuge are to these women.
Jill Read-Brown commented: "I know firsthand how important charities like Refuge are to the survival of women and children escaping domestic violence." She added: "Starting up running in your 50's, when you've never run in your life is not to be taken lightly especially when you have only two months to get fit! However, I am determined to run the whole 10k and raise as much money as I physically can to help ensure that Refuge can continue to support these women and children."
Norman Hartnell, Director of Hartnell Chanot commented: "We are very aware how charities like this are facing cuts due to government changes. More than ever as a society we need to step up to the mark and help protect the vulnerable. We wish Jill the very best of luck with her 10k run."
