  • (1888PressRelease) September 03, 2015 - LOS ANGELES - At the Dodgers' 11th homestand of the season against the Chicago Cubs the Major League team honored a major league philanthropist, Mrs. Deborah Alessi. This past Sunday, August 30th 2015 the Los Angeles Dodgers asked the Face Forward founder and CEO to be recognized for her inspirational work in the community and awarded her the community hero award. This award is a part of Adrian Gonzalez's Viva Los Dodgers program. Through her charity, Face Forward, Mrs. Alessi has worked to help victims of domestic violence and human-trafficking by providing pro-bono reconstructive surgery and a community of support.

Face Forward is currently gearing up for their annual gala. This is the 6th annual gala and will be held at Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, on September 19th 2015. The annual event is the charity's most important fundraising and awareness-building event of the year, helping to raise money for patients' travel and aftercare. This year Face Forward is thrilled to have Entertainment Tonight's Kevin Frazier and KTLA's Lu Parker MCing the night and legendary musicians, Chaka Khan and Macy Gray performing. Past years have heralded intimate performances from Grammy award-winning artists, Brian McNight and Macy Gray, with celebrity attendees such as Lana Parrilla, Missi Pyle, Chris McKenna, Bonnie Somerville, Jeff Probst, Erik Valdez and "Sugar" Shane Mosely. However, the true stars of this spectacular fundraising night will be the survivors of domestic violence and the supporters that it takes to end the cycle of abuse.
