- (1888PressRelease) May 20, 2011 - F Cancer Embrace Life - FACING FEAR. INSPIRING HOPE. EMBRACING LIFE. To date, almost $100,000 has been donated to Inspire Health. Every F Cancer™ bracelet sold raises $50 for Inspire Health, with the purchaser receiving a charitable tax receipt for their donation. By selling 30 bracelets in the next 30 days, F Cancer Embrace Life will reach their initial goal of a $100,000 contribution.
Susan Fiedler, "F Cancer Embrace Life is my personal charity initiative launched in October of 2008. I wanted to put my experience and connections to good use in the world, so I created the F Cancer bracelet to raise funds and awareness for Inspire Health, the clinic where I was treated. People love to wear or give the bracelet as a way to express their support of friends and family (and selves) who have cancer. Nothing against pink ribbons, but this bracelet tells it like it is.
Inspire Health is Canada's foremost integrated cancer care centre. It provides people living with cancer guidance on how to integrate research-informed natural approaches to healing into their cancer treatment and recovery.
Mr. Hal Gunn, co-founder and CEO of Inspire Health says, "Susan is a wonderful reflection of Inspire Health's empowered philosophy and self-engagement in health - courage, self-awareness and fun. Thank you for joining Susan in facing fear, supporting Inspire Health's vision of transforming a cancer diagnosis into inspired embrace of life, and ultimately, 'telling it like it is!' Inspire Health's mission is to support the establishment of such centers throughout Canada and to inspire integrated cancer care world-wide. Each bracelet worn brings us one step closer to our goal. Thank you!"
Today you can see celebrities such as Sarah McLachlan, Michael Franti, W. Brett Wilson, Lisa Ray and the Barenaked Ladies wearing F Cancer™ bracelets.
Lisa Ray, Actress: "I am inspired by your feat of alchemy: to craft something beautiful and authentic from a challenging and what I can assume to be painful experience. The bracelet unanimously attracts attention wherever I go in the world and I'm proud to highlight its relevance and message."
W. Brett Wilson, Entrepreneur: "My F Cancer bracelet came to me as a gift a few months ago after a simply wonderful first date, from an incredible woman and now a very dear friend - I have never received a gift so simple in design, so creative in approach, so touching in concept or so appropriate for me. I fought and won my cancer battle in 2001. I fought and beat the terrible side effects of radiation in 2007. And the F Cancer bracelet will remain with me as a tribute to my very personal journey, a very personal battle that is now behind me. Sadly, the cancer journey/battle lays ahead for so many more. I hope F Cancer inspires others to fight the great fight…"
Ed Robertson, Barenaked Ladies: "F Cancer? I couldn't agree more! I wear the bracelet in honour of my Mother, who I lost to Lung Cancer last year. We all have a reason. A relative, a friend, a co-worker. I'm tired of this F*ing disease."
