- (1888PressRelease) July 16, 2015 - Carpinteria, CA - Eye of the Day Garden Design Center is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of Orange-Tree Planters, formally owned by Mr. Eric Vogelzang and Mr. Frederic Richard of Paris, France. Eye of the Day is known for an expansive inventory of fine American and European terracotta pottery and is excited to expand the existing catalog of classic wooden and ceramic French and English style planter boxes.
Originally designed in the 17th century by the Andre Le Notre, gardener of King Louis XIV for the Palace at Versailles, a box planter was created to ensure the survival of delicate and exotic fruit trees at the palace during the winter months. These celebrated planters are still made for convenient access to the trees. This style has become the standard for public and private gardens throughout Europe.
Eye of the Day is proud to continue the tradition of these classic garden containers which will add beauty to the home and garden. Please view the inventory at the website.
