Expanded ASD Inc. Team Aims to Increase Markets for Spectroscopy Solutions and Applications
Promotion of Michael Lands to VP and Addition of Chris Sherry Promise Further Expansion for the Evolving Spectroscopy Solutions Company.
- (1888PressRelease) January 12, 2012 - ASD Inc., the global leader in high-performance analytical instrumentation and material analysis solutions, today announced the promotion of Michael Lands as the company's vice president of marketing and sales, and the addition of Chris Sherry as senior market manager.
Lands has served as ASD's marketing and product management director since 2005 and recently assumed the role of vice president, sales and marketing. In his new role, he is responsible for the company's sales and marketing strategy. In addition, he is driving the implementation for ASD's existing near-infrared spectroscopy solutions and its planned market growth strategy. Lands also oversees the company's SummitCAL Solutions Team, which provides multivariate analysis and chemometrics services to ASD's spectrometer customers.
"We have a long-standing reputation within the scientific research community of creating high quality portable near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy systems that produce the highest quality measurements," said Dave Rzasa, CEO of ASD. "Now that we are more aggressively crossing into the industrial sector, we are quickly enhancing and sharpening our marketing and sales efforts and refocusing more deeply on our customers."
Sherry, a Certified Professional Geologist, joins the team primarily to lead mining industry market expansion efforts. He comes to ASD with an extensive geological background as well as experience in project management, marketing and sales direction.
"Chris Sherry is a significant new member of our team as we continue our evolution to a comprehensive near-infrared spectroscopy solutions provider," Lands said. "His knowledge of field work combined with sales and marketing experience will help us meet our customer demands for comprehensive portable spectroscopy analysis solutions."
Already well known for the industry-leading FieldSpec line of spectrometers for remote sensing including the recently announced FieldSpec 4 line, ASD expanded its NIR spectroscopy analyzers into the mining exploration and production industries. The rugged, portable TerraSpec line of spectrometers speed site exploration with real-time, non-destructive mineral analysis, and provide high-throughput ore analysis in the lab or the field.
