- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) December 09, 2011 - "When I heard about the Voit family fundraiser, Operation Hope, I knew I just had to do what I could to help," says Scott Walode, President and CEO of ExhibitCraft, Inc. in Wayne, NJ. "I have a personal connection with Wayne, NJ and I have children that go to Wayne Valley High School."
On Sunday, December 8th, the 44-year old mother of 3 children, Lorraine Voit, 44 died. The children's father, John, 48, died in March.
Originally raised in Passaic County and living in Clifton, NJ, the Voits moved to Florida six years ago. The family returned to NJ and moved to Wayne after John died, renting a house near the Passaic River.
When the house flooded recently, the entire basement and first floor were destroyed, along with the Voits' belongings. Lorraine Voit and three children moved in with John's sister before the flood. For the past few months since their home was destroyed, they have been staying with different family members.
The Operation Hope fundraiser will take place Saturday, December 10th from 9am - 12pm. 100% of the proceeds will be used to pay for funeral costs and also to provide Christmas presents for the three Voit sons.
Donations are being accepted in the form of cash, Christmas presents, wrapping paper and gift cards at Wayne Valley High School. Poinsettias will also be available for purchase for the holidays, with proceeds to benefit the Voit family. ExhibitCraft has donated an event banner stand for the Operation Hope fundraiser.
