This powerful healing practice combines meditative, breathing, movement, and visualisation exercises to help cultivate a healthy mind and body. - (1888PressRelease) October 03, 2012 - Every other Thursday from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM Evolve Wellness Centre will be hosting an ancient Chinese healing practice that is called chi gung. Chi Kung combines exercises of meditation, breathing, visualization and movement.
If you are new to chi kung, you might be wondering what the word means. The term "Chi", is fundamentally the universal energy that flows through everything. The word "Kung" means to manipulate, to work, or to cultivate. Essentially, chi kung allows people to use their life energy to develop a healthy mind and body.
Catherine Dixon will be your instructor. She is a meditation and chi kung teacher. Catherine trained with the school of Elemental Chi Kung and has been teaching chi kung for the past 11 years.
This class teaches you the basic postures and movements to literally recharge your energy supply and balance your nervous system. In addition, you will learn some basic chi gung movements and experience emotional and physical energy cleansing, and walking and standing meditations.
